What is david sheperd?

David Shepherd (1931-2017) was a British wildlife artist and conservationist. He is best known for his portrayal of African wildlife, particularly elephants. Shepherd was born in London and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art. He began his career as a commercial artist, but quickly shifted his focus to wildlife art. He traveled extensively throughout Africa, Asia, and Europe, drawing inspiration from the animals and landscapes he encountered. Throughout his career, Shepherd was a prolific painter and printmaker, and his work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Shepherd was a committed conservationist and founded the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation in 1984 to support conservation projects around the world. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 2008 for his contributions to wildlife conservation.
